Job Description

Day-to-day activities:

The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, implementation, and efficient operation of routine and strategic projects and will report directly to stakeholders, department chairs, business and finance, human resources, and department of health officials.

The candidate will lead multi-disciplinary project teams to make sure projects are on schedule, within budget, and that work plans and deliverables meet program specifications. The incumbent is expected to communicate proactively and effectively to all stakeholders regarding project status, issues, and risks while developing a comprehensive understanding of strategies, goals, and success criteria. In addition, the expectation is that the individual will manage and resolve conflicts within the project team by employing project management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather program requirements and translate them into actionable tasks and project plans and ensure that implementations are completed on time, within budget, and exceeds program expectations
  • Leverage project management, operations, and best practices
  • Plan and schedule internal and external meetings
  • Establish effective professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Draft and maintain paper and electronic Institutional submissions, documentation as well as required regulatory documentation
  • Make formal presentations to upper level stakeholders

  • Excellent organizational and administrative skill sets
  • Ability to manage and implement projects that enhance the mission of the organization
  • Project management experience in the public and population health domain
  • Proven experience in formulating and managing complex projects in population or public health
  • Strong facilitation and group leadership skill sets
  • Experience working in a project management capacity with diverse groups
  • The ability to conceive, develop, and complete tasks without supervision

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors’ degree in business administration, health care administration, operations research, or public health administration required.
  • Knowledge of local and federal health regulatory agencies.
  • Knowledge and experience in health, healthcare, population health, health disparities, or health equity.
  • Proven track record of successful project management.
  • Project Manager Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required.
